The Senapred remains active in the area, coordinating efforts for the proper extraction of the deceased.
Carabineros de Chile, for its part, reported in X that a multidisciplinary high-mountain team was responsible for the discovery. Currently, all the necessary work is being carried out for the recovery of the bodies.
The Argentine climbers had been reported missing since December 2 at Cerro Marmolejo, located in the municipality of San José de Maipo. Chilean authorities deployed a helicopter to search for them, while Andean Relief Corps personnel found their tent at the camp, but failed to locate them so far.
